Welcome to another Deck Guide article, the series where we break down the data behind some of Marvel SNAP’s top decks and archetypes.
Today, we’re going to review what the current version of Silver Surfer decks look like, the cards you need to make it work, and the matchups you’re hoping to see or avoid to find success playing it yourself. Here’s a look at the most popular Silver Surfer list at the moment in ranks 70-99.

Key Cards

Unsurprisingly, the deck primarily revolves around Silver Surfer’s ability to give +2 Power to your various other 3-Cost cards.
There’s a wide selection of cards that are also auto-includes if you’re looking to build a Silver Surfer deck. As you can see in the deck above, Surfer decks often include cards like Brood, Forge, Sebastian Shaw, and Sera alongside its titular card, Silver Surfer.

Brood’s ability to add two extra 3-Cost Broodlings makes it a perfect card to absorb multiple buffs from Silver Surfer, Forge, as well as other popular cards like Nova and Okoye. Since the deck includes multiple 3-Cost cards, you are often looking for ways to make your cards cheaper or get extra turns to play them out—which is why cards like Sera, Hope Summers and more recently Phastos are often seen in Surfer decks.
The other positive thing about Surfer decks is how cheap they are to build, at least when compared to other popular meta decks. Most of the cards you’ll need are Series 3 and below, and the few that are Series 4 or Series 5 (e.g. Sebastian Shaw, Phastos, Hope Summers) have decent alternatives that will still let you achieve similar results.

The Raw Data

With +0.25 average cube rate, 53.7% winrate, and whopping 8.1% popularity on Ranks 70-99, Silver Surfer finds itself towards the top of Tier B. This puts it side-by-side other popular archetypes such as Gilgamesh Zoo and Destroy.

Good and Bad Matchups
The two most common matchups you will face when playing Silver Surfer are Destroy, which you should be slightly unfavored against, and Gilgamesh, which is actually a great matchup for you.

In addition to these, Surfer particularly struggles against Baron Zemo and Hela decks, sporting a 41.3% and 44.2% winrate against them, respectively, on ranks 70-99. Given how reliant your deck is on Silver Surfer’s On Reveal ability, the disruption from Zemo decks often ends up being insurmountable, while Hela decks just put out too many Power points for you to be able to overcome.
Remember that these stats may change over time, so make sure to visit the Meta Page to see how Surfer’s position in the meta has evolved.

Best Silver Surfer Decks

Highest average cubes is the preferred metric to measure a deck’s success if your goal is to climb the ranked ladder, so let’s take a look at some of the top Silver Surfer decklists in the meta right now with at least 1k games.

All of these lists should be fantastic choices currently, but if none of them fit your play style or collection, don’t worry! You can find dozens of different Silver Surfer decks in our decks page.
