Welcome to the latest Spotlight Cache Showcase! In this article series, we assess the contents of Marvel SNAP’s upcoming Spotlight Caches to help you decide if this is the right week to use your hard-earned keys.
This week we don’t have any new cards, but it could still be a great week if you want to catch up since Spotlight Caches bring three Series 5 cards: Hope Summers, Proxima Midnight, and Nico Minoru.

Hope Summers

Hope Summers appears in this last Spotlight Cache of the Marvel SNAP Maximum Effort season. It is a Series 5 card that costs 3 energy and has 4 power. It has the effect: "After you play a card here, you get +1 Energy next turn.” Its continuous ramp ability is extremely useful in both Move and Thena style decks. While it is not strictly a buildaround card, it has become core on those archetypes and really synergizes with Angela, Kitty Pride, and our lovely Jeff.

Proxima Midnight

The second card of this Spotlight Cache, Proxima Midnight is currently at the bottom of our Card Tier List on Tier D, having a negative winrate while being played in only 1.1% of decks in ranks Top 50% Infinite ranks. That being said, the card performs way better on the 70-99 Rank Bracket, climbing to Tier B with a 53.4% winrate and +0.29 Avg. Cube Rate. Proxima Midnight is most commonly played in the Discard archetype where it synergizes perfectly with Blade, MODOK, and every other Discard mechanic.

While Discard might not be the hottest deck right now, it is an archetype that will never die, and Proxima Midnight will be a staple in it. So if you fancy this type of play and don’t have the card, this is your opportunity.

Nico Minoru

The last card in this week’s Spotlight Cache is Nico Minoru, which is currently sitting in B tier with a nearly +0.26 cube rate, 52.1% winrate, and an outstanding 10.8% popularity in ranks 70-99, increasing more as you climb the ladder. Nico Minoru is such a flexible card that can fit in different archetypes but is most commonly found in Destroy and Phoenix decks where it works well with X-23, Deadpool, and Multiple Man especially with the Draw spell.

If you don’t have the card, this is a perfect opportunity to grab one of the most flexible 1-Cost cards in the game, regardless if you enjoy these decks, Nico Minoru will surely find many other archetypes where to thrive.

Spotlight Variants

Each week, you have the chance to open exclusive Spotlight Cache Variants for all the cards featured within. These variants can only appear once you own all three cards featured, so you’ll need plenty of Spotlight Keys if you want one from scratch! Spotlight Cache exclusive variants will not be available in-game again until one full year has passed following their release.

Final Thoughts

This week’s Spotlight Caches boils down to how complete is your collection. While this is a unique week with no new cards to grab, the quality of the Series 5 cards in this Spotlight Caches makes it worth it for any player who does not have them to invest some keys and boost their collection. Hope Summers is already a staple in popular Thena decks and Proxima Midnight will always find a place in Discard decks, which now and then make a reappearance in the meta. Finally, Nico Minoru is a great all-around card, flexible enough to find a place in many existing and future decks.
The other factor to consider in this decision is the upcoming Spotlight Caches. Next week we’ll see Marvel Boy being added to the game in the same cache as the big boys Red Hulk and Blob, with Wiccan the following week. All of them are Series 5 and high-potential cards.
