Welcome to another installment of “On The Spot”, the series where we review the cards available in this week’s Spotlight Cache.
Today we’ll be breaking down the stats, synergies, and decks with Nebula, a Series 4 card that is available in Spotlight Caches right now alongside Marvel SNAP’s newest card, Hydra Bob, and Galactus.
So, is Nebula worthy of your Spotlight Keys? Let’s find out.

We’ll be ranking Nebula based on the following set of parameters:
  • We’ll be looking at Nebula’s performance in Inifinite ranks, including a special mention of the Top 50% of the Infinite Rank to get a solid idea of how it performs.
  • We’ll be considering Nebula’s overall win percentage in these ranks, but also its average cubes and popularity.
  • Finally, we will also take a quick look at how the archetype the card best fits performs in the current meta.

Who Is Nebula?

Nebula grew up in a life of violence and constantly competed with her adopted sister, Gamora. As a fierce space pirate and assassin, Nebula has often clashed with the Avengers and her adoptive father, Thanos. Her hatred for Thanos stems from the years of abuse she suffered under his care, including being forced to undergo cybernetic augmentation.
In Marvel SNAP, Nebula costs 1 energy, has 1 power, and the effect: "Each turn your opponent doesn't play a card here, +2 Power. (except the turn you play this)" As a Series 4 card, Nebula can be purchased for 3k Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop if you ultimately decide to not use your Spotlight Keys this week.

The Stats

Nebula is currently in Tier C with a -0.16 average cube rate and a 48.6% winrate in Infinite ranks, which is fairly weak. Its stats get substantially better (although still not good) at -0.02 average cube rate inside and 49.8% winrate in the top 50% of Infinite.
Looking at other cards that have similar popularity stats as Nebula, which is currently played in 7.6% of decks, we see that it stacks up poorly against the likes of Legion’s +0.08 average cube rate and Thena’s 51.5% winrate.
For now, Nebula is sitting with similar statistics to Sunspot, Ka-Zar, and Red Guardian, which indicates that it’s a fine card that has a place in certain decks but is still a far cry from its once dominating position as THE 1-Cost card in the meta.
Remember that these stats may change over time, so make sure you revisit the card stats in our Card Tier List to see where Nebula lands in terms of power level and popularity.

Best Decks With Nebula

Looking at over 240 games played at Infinite ranks with the Untapped.gg Companion in the last 7 days, we’ve got a great selection of decks to choose from if you’re looking to find a home for your freshly opened Nebula. Let’s take a look at some of the best-performing options:

The most common deck with Nebula is definitely Zoo, which as an archetype currently on Tier B with a 51.5% winrate and +0.11 average cube rate. The deck often plays cards like Ka-Zar, Caiera and Gilgamesh which all have great synergy with Nebula. Don’t worry if you are missing any of these cards though, you can always find a deck tailored to your collection on our Marvel SNAP decks page.

Final Thoughts

So, is Nebula worth your Keys or Tokens? As we’ve mentioned at the beginning of this article, the analysis revolves around two dimensions, Nebula’s power level and how strong its decks are in the current Marvel SNAP meta.
Raw data indicates that Nebula has proven to be just strong enough to make a moderate impact on the meta. Nebula seems to fit mostly in Zoo decks, which is a competitive archetype. In addition, Nebula is a general purpose 1-Cost card that can fit in many other decks. If Nebula has a play pattern you like, then she would probably be a good addition to your collection!
