Welcome to the Untapped.gg Marvel SNAP Meta Report (Conquest) for the week of October 29, 2024. The Meta Report is a monthly article series where we review the best Conquest decks and strategies to help give you an edge over your opponents and secure that coveted Infinity Border for your favorite avatar.

META TIER LIST

Much like in our Ranked Meta Report, the Agent Venom Archetype is dominating the Conquest meta. The recent slew of nerfs and buffs in the recent Marvel SNAP OTA Balance Update — October 24, 2024 did nothing to stunt its power, instead hitting its competition, the War Machine Archetype and Darkhawk Archetype, hard. Even the Bounce Archetype, who's received support in both Agent Venom and Toxin, can't seem to keep up. Only one other deck is keeping pace with Agent Venom, and it's consistently the bane of Conquest players existence: the Arishem Archetype. The Bounce Archetype, Zoo Archetype and Darkhawk Archetype all fall short of the two Tier A Decks, tumbling down to Tier B. There's a reason we've dubbed Agent Venom this month's Meta Tyrant. While all the decks have strong average winrates above 56%, Agent Venom and Arishem are nearly 2% higher, sitting at 58.1% and 58.0% respectfully in Gold Conquest. Agent Venom represents a whopping 10.9% archetype popularity in Gold Conquest, which means you're more likely to run into it than Bounce Archetype (10.1%), Discard Archetype (8.6%) and even Destroy Archetype (6.5%).

TIER A CONQUEST DECKS

Diving a bit deeper into the data, we can see that the Agent Venom Archetype is refined, yet flexible, as average composition includes just four cards consistently in over 75% of decks, including Iron Man, Bast and Kitty Pryde. Agent Venom remains at the top of the Ranked Meta as well, as opposing decks can't compete with the consistency of Agent Venom and Bast combined with Cosmo and powerful Ongoing cards. Cards like Enchantress (8.4% popularity), Rogue (10.0% popularity) and even Super Skrull (4.0% popularity) are rising in popularity, especially in Conquest where polarizing match-ups are much more devastating. The most popular Agent Venom deck sports a whopping 61.3% winrate in Gold Conquest, even better than the archetype average.

Arishem is right on Agent Venom's tail as the only deck that can sometimes outpace its perfect draw and set up. Six of its most commonly played cards, including Shang-Chi, Agent Coulson and Mockingbird are present in 93% or more of Arishem decks, demonstrating that the deck composition is mostly solved, but the deck stays agile with the extra energy and random additional cards, making it difficult to play against. The most popular Arishem deck sports a 55.4% winrate, lower than the archetype average.

Down in Tier B, we find the Bounce, Zoo and Darkhawk Archetypes. Their winrates are similar, but Bounce pulls ahead slightly, despite having the play rate of both Zoo and Darkhawk combined - a testament to the consistency and power output of the deck. So long as Cosmo is heavily prevalent in the meta, however, Bounce won't be able to break into Tier A.

TIER B CONQUEST DECKS

notion image
Zoo remains a consistently powerful deck thanks to Marvel Boy - a card difficult to counter, as only a well-timed Red Guardian can disrupt its ability. The deck is holding its own against Bounce, with only a 0.1% difference in winrate. Darkhawk, on the other hand, was hit in the recent OTA and it shows. Rockslide coming out a turn slower is not only a huge tempo loss, but also means your opponent won't have rocks in their deck for an extra turn, giving them the chance to potential draw a game-winning card. Still, all three Tier B decks are putting up formidable numbers.
Most Popular Bounce Cards
notion image
Bounce has all the makings of a Tier A deck, but is easily disrupted when all eyes are on it. The deck often brings its most powerful threats back on Turn 5, giving priority to the opponent. Unfortunately, this allows the opponents to either plan for a Cosmo or even an Alioth. Hit-Monkey and Sage in particular are often Turn 6 powerhouses, but are also the most fragile cards in the deck. The most popular Bounce deck sports a 55.0% winrate, lower than the archetype average.
To have an edge in the Conquest meta, you must understand each and every tool both at your and your opponent's disposal. By studying the Conquest Card Tier List and checking the most popular cards each week, you'll have a better grasp of what to expect in any given match.

To get an idea of how Bounce is skewing the meta, just take a look at the most popular cards in Gold Conquest. Invisible Woman and Ghost are some of the most powerful cards right now - Bounce throwing priority is so expected that decks are planning to stay behind it at all costs. Outside of that we see Agent Venom dominating at the top. Tech cards are everywhere, including the newly buffed Shadow King, Red Guardian and Shang-Chi. Shang is still present in 21.9% of decks at Gold Conquest. If your deck is particularly susceptible to Shang, you may want to adjust your game plan or even which deck to play.
This doesn’t mean its an auto-lose matchup if your deck is susceptible to Shang - your opponent still needs to draw the card and find the right time to play it to be impactful. It is just a best practice to be aware of its presence to elevate your performance by a significant margin.
Next week, we’ll see the launch of the new Ragnarok Season featuring Surtur releasing alongside Frigga, Copycat and Red Guardian.

Understanding Matchups

Adding a new dimension to our analysis, we can talk about Deck or Archetype matchups. As mentioned, Marvel SNAP decks have strengths and weaknesses, and understanding these can help you dominate the Meta. If you realize you are facing a deck you are favored against, snap more aggressively and increase the stakes at play, given that you are more likely to win those games. On the contrary, when in an unfavored game, you should consider retreating every time your opponent snaps if you don’t feel like you have a great hand.
This discipline will boost the average cubes you win per battle and help you defeat opponents easily since gaining cubes is more important than just winning rounds in SNAP’s Conquest mode. For those who want to explore the infinite possibilities, the Untapped.gg Marvel SNAP Premium subscription unlocks our Matchups table, with thousands of games for each archetype for you to know who is the top dog of every encounter.
For this Agent Venom-dominated meta, decks that go taller than the deck's ceiling are able to compete, including the Tribunal Archetype and Bounce Archetype. The Scream Archetype is also able to disrupt and pick apart Agent Venom's power.
