Welcome to the Untapped.gg Marvel SNAP Meta Report (Ranked) for the week of November 13, 2024. The Meta Report is a weekly article series where we review the best decks and strategies in the top ranks of Marvel SNAP.

META TIER LIST

Surtur is terrorizing the meta with an enormous 19.2% play rate at Rank 70 and above, higher popularity than any other three decks combined across Tier A and Tier B. Although the Surtur Archetype is the popular pick, Bounce Archetype is still top dog. The deck composition of the most popular Bounce list has remained unchanged since Toxin's release, even with Cosmo's play rate skyrocketing at Rank 70 and above. While decks that use and attempt to avoid Cosmo duke it out, another deck has crept into the spotlight: the Sera Control Archetype. It is often a bad sign when Sera Control is a top meta deck, as it is an indication that other decks have reached a breaking point in either Power or play rate, making tech cards absolute must haves, as they are just as strong as the problematic cards, if not stronger.
Although Sera Control has a much lower winrate at 57.4%, the deck is matching the cube rate of Surtur with a high +0.77 average cube rate at Rank 70 and above. Bounce, however, can't be caught, with a +0.82 average cube rate and 60% win rate. Currently, the Bounce Archetype has a 2.0% popularity rate, so you're still more likely to run into the Discard Archetype (8.9%), Arishem Archetype (7.2%) and Move Archetype (4.3%) on ladder.

TIER A DECKS

Looking a bit deeper at the data, we can see the best Bounce decks are utilizing all three staples for maximum bounces, including Toxin, Falcon and Beast. Five of the most commonly played cards are present in 91% or more of Bounce decks, including The Hood, Nico Minoru and Rocket Raccoon. The most popular Bounce deck sports a 60.8% winrate and +0.89 average cube rate, higher than the archetype average at Rank 70 and above.

The Surtur Archetype is holding down the second place spot in Tier A. Seven of its most commonly played cards, including Crossbones, Skaar and Attuma, are present in 91% or more of Surtur decks, demonstrating that the deck composition is solved, but predictable. This should make it easier to tech against it, but its metrics prove its sheer strength is enough to push past its potential counters. The most popular deck sports a 63.4% winrate and +0.82 average cube rate, clocking it much higher than the archetype average.

Down in Tier B, we find the Agent Venom Archetype creeping back into the meta with a 59.1% winrate at Rank 70 and above, with the Tribunal Archetype, Discard Archetype and Darkhawk Archetype close behind. The decks' average cube rates are similar, but Agent Venom is the Tier B deck to beat.

TIER B DECKS

notion image
Agent Venom doesn't quite have the average cube rate to make it into Tier A, but its winrate is higher than Sera Control, demonstrating that it could breakthrough to Tier A at any moment. If counters die down even a bit, Agent Venom will break through into the top tier again. With an OTA on the horizon, both Agent Venom and the decks keeping it down are all potential targets. We'll be keeping an eye on Agent Venom, as we expect it to move into Tier A if it's not hit by nerfs.
To have an edge in the Marvel SNAP meta, you must understand each and every tool both at your and your opponent's disposal. By studying the Card Tier List and checking the most popular cards each week, you'll have a better grasp on what to expect in any given match.

Card Tier List

notion image
The top of the Card Tier List is dominated by tech cards at Rank 70 and above. We are in a Cosmo meta, with the card sitting at a 27.2% play rate. Shadow King has an even higher play rate at 29.4%. It is a tech-filled meta and you should consider adjusting your game plan or even deck choice if you're particularly susceptible to these cards.
This doesn’t mean that affected decks become unplayable, your opponent still needs to draw these cards and find the right time to play them to generate impact. Just keep in mind the possibility of them coming down on a pivotal turn and you could elevate your performance by a significant margin.
Next week Fenris Wolf drops alongside Annihilus and Werewolf by Night. Be prepared to face players experimenting, as we see a spike in popularity on spotlight cache days.
