I Feel Scammed

Q: Every week since Red Guardian it has taken me 4 keys every time to get the new card. It’s frustrating that I have to use all my keys every single week. Is there some kind of percentage or algorithm or something that goes into spotlights? Because this is disheartening and the fact that it’s been 4 keys every week for a month and a half can not be a coincidence.
Stephen: I'm sorry lady luck has not been on your side. There is no algorithm or system that alters the drop chances of spotlight caches. It is always a 25% chance at each reward, then a 33% chance, then a 50% chance, then guaranteed to get the last remaining reward. Hopefully your next spotlight cache will give you the new card on your first pull.

Rewards of Albums

Q: Can I ask how you figured the rewards of the albums? For example the Dan Hipp album with 1 Key like a reward, the total to spend on that album is 8.4k of gold, but you need 4.2k for that Key. For Rian Gonzales’ album the reward is 1k credits but you need to spend 7.2k of gold—almost double—and even if you complete it it’s 13.2k of gold and 5k of credits. The comparison don't have any sense. Can you explain why please.
Stephen: The reward in the Rian album is a Series 5 card variant (Iron Lad) that unlocks the ability to play with a Series 5 card if you don’t own it yet.

Devs’ Reaction and Response to Negative Feedback

Q: Recently more than ever it seems that almost every update gets worse in worse in the communities eyes. Many many players are unhappy with performance issues that seem to increase in number after a new update. Cards continue to trouble the community and ruin a lot of players fun despite internal metrics saying otherwise which is preventing any change. And the new roadmap seems to have disappointed a lot of players.
  1. How do you all feel with so much feedback being of an upset player base?
  1. Will there be a time when you stop going by internal metrics and change cards to make the community happy?
  1. Do you all believe that you can fix the current state of the game in a meaningful time even if that means delaying new content, including new cards every week?
Griffin:
  1. We see all types of feedback about SNAP. Sometimes players are unhappy and they let us know. That's the job and we're thrilled at how much the players care. We're able to sort through it all and put it to use in making the game better.
  1. We don't ever JUST go by internal metrics for card adjustments. It's one piece of the equation. Another piece is player sentiment.
  1. I can feel your frustration in this question but I don't agree with the premise. Our team is 100% dedicated to making SNAP the best game it can be. Keep providing your respectful feedback and we'll keep working hard on achieving greatness together.

Wasted Boosters on Completed Cards

Q: I have several cards that have splits I'm more than happy with - these are my favorite characters that I love to play. But when I have these cards in my deck now they are still earning lots of boosters that I'll never use. Hundred or even thousands and counting! This makes me feel like I'm wasting my time playing my favorite cards, and feels really bad. Do you have any plans to change how boosters are earned so that players don't feel bad for using beautiful 'finished' splits they worked so hard for?
Stephen: You haven't seen the new splits coming yet. Maybe you'll want to keep splitting those characters you love more!

Spotlight Caches and Cassandra

Q: Hi! I really appreciate Stephen’s clarification that both Cassandra Nova’s base card and what would have been her spotlight variant are going to be in the Deadpool’s Diner in the recent question. I’d like to follow up by asking how this will effect the Spotlight Cache at the time of her debut if she’s gonna be available for tokens the week following. Will there be 3 returning series 4/5 cards? Will there be an empty slot and only 3 rewards in the cache? Or will Cassandra Nova also be in the cache?
Stephen: Cassandra Nova will not be in the Spotlight cache that week. There will be three returning Series 4/5 cards so there will no newly released card in the spotlight that week. Cassandra Nova will be in future spotlights down the road.

Moving and Swapping Sides

Q: I have a question about Professor X's new text and the difference between moving and swapping sides. Professor X's new text only mentions moving but doesn't stop swapping sides. Does this mean that swapping sides is considered moving? If so, will cards/locations like Kraven, Kingpin, Hercules, Miles Morales and Kun Lun be changed to work with cards swapping sides? Or is swapping sides not considered adding a card to the location?
Glenn: Swapping sides isn't considered moving. As you deduced, swapping sides also isn't adding or removing a card from a location, which is why Professor X doesn't cover it. The card is already at the location.

Buff to War Machine?

Q: Hi team. I was just wondering if, in light of today's OTA changes specifically, there was any thought given to buffing War Machine? Was there any consideration given to how the changes to Professor X would affect War Machine as an already weak/underplayed card that is hurt further by losing one of the main reasons to run him?
Glenn: We don’t often try to account for “knock-on” effects of changes, because the outcomes are harder to predict and we could easily overcorrect or even correct in the wrong direction. Our approach is to review most secondary impacts of card adjustments once they’re live. Sometimes we deviate, but not in this case.

Phoenix Force - Appearance of the Card on the Board

Q: I just managed to grab a beautiful variant from David Mack (it cost me 4 keys). But it is a great pity that the card is not visible on the board (immediately overwritten by the appearance of the revived card). Is there a plan for a change in behavior like Iron Lad, for example? Basically, it loses the point of investing in split, variants, etc for this card.
Glenn: I sympathize, and one of our learnings from Phoenix Force was to avoid similar behavior. However, it's both creatively and mechanically meaningfully that the card remain the "host" character, so we're not currently planning to change that. It's not out of the question, though.
