Welcome to another installment of “On The Spot”, the series where we review the cards available in this week’s Spotlight Cache.
Today we’ll be breaking down the stats, synergies, and decks with Spider-Ham, a Series 4 card that is available in Spotlight Caches right now alongside Marvel SNAP’s newest card, Phastos, and Corvus Glaive.
So, is Spider-Ham worthy of your Spotlight Keys? Let’s find out.

We’ll be ranking Spider-Ham based on the following set of parameters:
  • We’ll be looking at Spider-Ham’s performance in Vibranium, Omega, Galactic ranks (70-99), including a special mention of the Top 50% of the Infinite Rank to get a solid idea of how it performs.
  • We’ll be considering Spider-Ham’s overall win percentage in these ranks, but also its average cubes and popularity.
  • Finally, we will also take a quick look at how the archetype the card best fits performs in the current meta.

Who Is Spider-Ham?

Born as Peter Porker, this Spider-Ham was originally a spider bitten by a radioactive pig. This transformed him into a swine-like humanoid with spider abilities. He later took on the mantle of Spider-Ham and started his own heroic adventures.
In Marvel SNAP, Spider-Ham costs 1 energy and has 1 power. It has the effect: "On Reveal: Transform the leftmost card in your opponent's hand into a Pig, keeping its Power and Cost."
As a Series 4 card, Spider-Ham can be purchased for 3k Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop if you ultimately decide to not use your Spotlight Keys this week.

The Stats

Spider-Ham is currently in Tier D with a +0.08 average cube rate in Ranks 70-99 which is extremely weak. It sneaks down even further to a meager +0.02 average cube rate inside of the Top 50% of Infinite. Spider-Ham’s winrate is currently sitting at 52.1%.
Looking at other cards that are frequently played with Spider-Ham that have a similar popularity, currently being played in 5.1% of decks, we see that it stacks up poorly against the likes of Elsa Bloodstone’s +0.18 average cube rate and Mysterio’s 53.7% winrate.
For now, Spider-Ham is sitting with similar statistics to Quinjet, Agent Coulson, and Electro, which indicates that it’s a situational card that has not found its place in the meta.
Remember that these stats may change over time, so make sure you revisit the card stats in our Card Tier List to see where Spider-Ham lands in terms of power level and popularity.

Best Decks With Spider-Ham

Looking at over 570k games played at Ranks 70-99 with the Untapped.gg Companion in the last 7 days, we’ve got a great selection of decks to choose from if you’re looking to find a home for your freshly opened Spider-Ham. Let’s take a look at some of the best-performing options:

The standout amongst the 570k games played at Ranks 70-99 is definitely Baron Zemo decks, which as an archetype currently on Tier B with a 53.5% winrate and +0.16 average cube rate. The deck often plays cards like Cable, Doctor Octopus and Gladiator which are used alongside Spider-Ham to disrupt your opponent’s hand and deck. Don’t worry if you are missing any of these cards though, you can always find a deck tailored to your collection on our Marvel SNAP decks page.

Final Thoughts

So, is Spider-Ham worth your Keys or Tokens? As we’ve mentioned at the beginning of this article, the analysis revolves around two dimensions, Spider-Ham’s power level and how strong its decks are in the current Marvel SNAP meta.
Raw data indicates that Spider-Ham has not proved strong enough to make a meaningful impact on the meta. Spider-Ham seems to fit mostly in disrupt decks like Baron Zemo, which is a fairly competitive archetype. If that’s a style of play you like, then Spider-Ham would probably be a good addition to your collection!
