Welcome to another installment of “On The Spot”, the series where we review the cards available in this week’s Spotlight Cache.
Today we’ll be breaking down the stats, synergies, and decks with X-23, a Series 5 card that is available in Spotlight Caches right now alongside Marvel SNAP’s newest card, Makkari, and Gladiator.
So, is X-23 worthy of your Spotlight Keys? Let’s find out.
We’ll be ranking X-23 based on the following set of parameters:
- We’ll be looking at X-23’s performance in Vibranium, Omega, Galactic ranks (70-99), including a special mention of the Top 50% of the Infinite Rank to get a solid idea of how it performs.
- We’ll be considering X-23’s overall win percentage in these ranks, but also its average cubes and popularity.
- Finally, we will also take a quick look at how the archetype the card best fits performs in the current meta.
WHO IS X-23?
Born from a sinister experiment, X-23 is a mutant of incredible strength and lethal prowess. With the same regenerative abilities and adamantium claws as Wolverine, she fights alongside the X-Men and X-Force, carving her own destiny. Escaping her dark past, Laura Kinney embraces her humanity becoming a symbol of resilience.
In Marvel SNAP, X-23 costs 1 energy and has 2 power. It has the effect: "When this is discarded or destroyed, regenerate it at a random location and you get +1 Energy next turn." It has variants from the Peach Momoko, Rian Gonzales, Venomized, Baby, Wolverine, Dan Hipp, Mech, and Hellfire Gala categories. The original card art is colored by Eduardo Mello, and drawn by Ryan Kinnaird.
As a Series 5 card, X-23 can be purchased for 6k Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop if you ultimately decide to not use your Spotlight Keys this week.
THE STATS
X-23 is currently in Tier B with a +0.30 average cube rate in Ranks 70-99 which is fairly high. It sneaks down to a mere +0.12 average cube rate inside of the Top 50% of Infinite. X-23’s winrate is currently sitting at a strong 52.8%.

BEST DECKS WITH X-23
Looking at over 690,000 games played at Ranks 70-99 with the Untapped.gg Companion since the latest OTA patch on June 13, we’ve got a great selection of decks to choose from if you’re looking to find a home for your freshly opened X-23. Let’s take a look at some of the best-performing options:
The standout amongst the 690k games played at Ranks 70-99 is definitely Destroy. The deck often plays cards like Carnage, Killmonger, and Death which have great synergy with X-23. Don’t worry if you are missing any of these cards though, you can always find a deck tailored to your collection on our Marvel SNAP decks page.
We also need to take a step back and not only analyze X-23’s power level, but the archetype that plays it the most it as well. Looking at the current Marvel SNAP meta, Destroy is on Tier B with a 53.5% winrate and +0.31 average cube rate in Ranks 70-99 data since the latest OTA patch.
Final Thoughts
So, is X-23 worth your Keys or Tokens? As we’ve mentioned at the beginning of this article, the analysis revolves around two dimensions, X-23’s power level and how strong its decks are in the current Marvel SNAP meta.
Raw data indicates that X-23 has been more than strong enough to make a significant impact on the meta. X-23 seems to fit mostly in Destroy and Galactus decks currently, which are both competitive archetypes. If that style of play speaks to you, then X-23 would be a great addition to your collection!
