Welcome along for another installment of “An Early Review Of” - the series where we break down the decklists and data behind Marvel SNAP’s newest card, Hawkeye Kate Bishop, to get a better idea of how it’s truly performing in the Meta!
Today, we’ll be analyzing Hawkeye Kate Bishop, a new Season Pass card introduced during the Young Avengers season that is immediately unlocked upon purchase. The important question is – is Kate Bishop worth buying? Let’s crunch the numbers.
We’ll be ranking Kate Bishop based on the following set of parameters:
We’ll be looking at Kate Bishop’s performance at the Rank 70 and above.
We’ll be considering Kate Bishop’s overall win percentage in these ranks, but also its average cubes and popularity.
Finally, we will also take a quick look at how the archetype the card best fits performs in the current meta.
Our Tier List rankings are based on the Average Cubes and Popularity of a card when compared to all other cards in Marvel SNAP.
The Raw Data
Kate Bishop has a +0.84 average cube rate which is kind of remarkable.
We see a similar story when studying Kate Bishop’s winrate, managing roughly 61.4%. That is already impressive given that the card is present in 23.3% of decks since the season started. Kate Bishop is entering Arishem territory in terms of current winrate, but let's give the card some time before we start raving about it. For now, Kate Bishop is sitting with similar statistics to Gilgamesh, which leaves us feeling like it’s a solid card that is sure to be meta-defining.
Remember that these stats will evolve over time, and this is “An Early Review Of”, so make sure you revisit the card stats and our Card Tier List once the dust settles to see where Kate Bishop lands in terms of power level and popularity.
Kate Bishop’s Best Decks (so far)
With over 240,000 games already played at Rank 70 and above with the Untapped.gg Companion since Kate Bishop’s release, we’ve got a fair selection of decks to choose from if you’re looking to find a home for your freshly opened copy of Kate Bishop. Let’s take a look at some of the best-performing options:
The standout amongst the almost quarter million games played at Rank 70 and above is Zoo. The deck often plays cards like Squirrel Girl, Ka-Zar, and Blue Marvel which have great synergy with Kate Bishop. Don’t worry if you are missing any of the cards listed, you can always find a deck tailored to your collection on our Marvel SNAP decks page.
Releasing Kate Bishop alongside Marvel Boy was the perfect recipe for the rise of Zoo in the current meta game.
We also need to take a step back and analyze not only Kate Bishop’s power level but the archetype that plays it the most as well. If we see the current Marvel SNAP meta, Zoo is in Tier B with a 62.97% winrate and +0.86 cube rate considering Rank 70 and above data since release.
Is Kate Bishop worth your Keys or Tokens? That’s the big question. As we’ve mentioned at the beginning of this Early Review, the analysis revolves around two dimensions, Kate Bishop's power level and how strong its archetype is in the current Marvel SNAP meta.
Raw data says that Kate Bishop is powerful, and we can already see it shifting Marvel SNAP’s metagame in the short since her release. On an archetype level, Zoo has been sitting at Tier B for the past few days with the addition of Kate Bishop enhancing its performance.
But what do you think? Is Kate Bishop secretly the truth? Will the upcoming releases bring enough support for Kate Bishop to make Zoo a powerhouse? Let us know your thoughts over at @UntappedSNAP on Twitter/X. Alternatively, come and chat with the wider Marvel SNAP Community on our Discord Server!
