Welcome to the Untapped.gg Marvel SNAP Meta Report (Ranked) for the week of September 19, 2024. The Meta Report is a weekly article series where we review the best Ranked decks and strategies in the top ranks of Marvel SNAP.
Marvel SNAP Tier List
We're in the homestretch of the Amazing Spider-Season and Tier A is being dominated by a single archetype at Rank 70 and above, with all others fighting for their spot in Tier B. With Araña's release, players have focused on experimenting with the Move Archetype, while others have taken advantage of the Hela Archetype, since her buff detailed in our Marvel SNAP Patch Notes - September 17. And yet, the Zoo Archetype is upstaging all of these. Players are teching against the more popular decks, Hela is currently sitting at 14.4% popularity and Move is sitting at 10.4%, allowing Zoo to go unchecked. Currently, the Tier List shows the Zoo Archetype sitting as the lone Tier A archetype at Rank 70 and above, with a +0.44 average cube rate and 58.9% winrate. With just a 2.7% popularity rate, Zoo decks seem to be far and few between, and you're more likely to run into Hela, Move and even Destroy Archetype (7.2%) on ladder.
TIER A DECKS
Diving deeper into the data, we can see Zoo decks are able to put out enormous power without fear, as tech cards that would counter them are being underutilized, including Enchantress (6.1% popularity), Rogue (5.1% popularity) and even Shadow King (8.5% popularity) at Rank 70 and above. Amongst the archetype, a whopping nine of the most commonly played cards, including Blue Marvel, Squirrel Girl and Shanna are present in 90% of decks or more. The most popular Zoo deck sports a 60.0% winrate and +0.53 average cube rate - a bit higher than the archetype average.
Most Popular Zoo Cards
Down in Tier B, we find the Darkhawk Archetype and Affliction Archetype battling it out for the top spot. With similar average cube rate and winrate, Darkhawk just barely pulls ahead despite similar popularity rates at Rank 70 and above. The War Machine Archetype and Hela Archetype round out the top of Tier B. War Machine leans heavily into have-it-or-don't territory, whereas Hela the newly buffed Hellcow, although its metrics are being dragged down a bit by a high play volume.
TIER B DECKS
The Darkhawk Archetype is positioned well against the most popular decks, despite its low popularity. The recent Moon Knight change helps target cards like Hela and Heimdall, eliminating entire win conditions by Turn 3. You can even follow up with a Black Bolt chaser if you don't hit something good the first time, getting into position to drop a powerful Turn 6 in Darkhawk and Stature. When all else fails, adding rocks to your opponent's deck is always a great way to ruin a potential top deck. The most popular Darkhawk deck sports a 59.2% winrate and +0.38 average cube rate - higher than the archetype average.

Most Popular Cards in Marvel SNAP
To have an edge in the Marvel SNAP meta you must understand each and every tool both at your and your opponent's disposal. By studying the Card Tier List and checking the most popular cards each week, you'll have a better grasp on what to expect in any given match.
Out of the nine most popular Marvel SNAP cards at Rank 70 and above, eight are cards present in the Hela Archetype. The first sighting of a tech card is Shang-Chi at the top of Tier B, present in 18.7% of decks. If your deck is particularly susceptible to these, you may want to adjust your game plan or even which deck to play.
Decks that are susceptible to Shang aren't unplayable - your opponent still needs to draw the card and find the right time to play it to be impactful. Just be mindful of tech options as you evaluate your opponent's deck to keep all possible scenarios in mind for the final turn.
Next week Scarlet Spider drops alongside White Widow and Skaar. Be prepared to face players experimenting, as we see a spike in popularity on spotlight cache days.
