Legendary mercenary and leader of the Wild Pack Silver Sable makes her debut in Marvel SNAP this week, but is she friend or foe?
We predicted early on that Silver Sable would be an incredibly powerful 1-Cost card in our Spotlight Showcase: Silver Sable, US Agent, Mockingbird article and the card's early stats confirm what we expected. Silver Sable has been a solid addition to a number of decks and is a powerful tool to add to your collection. The By the Numbers Article Series dives into the metrics behind the latest card release to help you decide if the new Series 5 card available in this week’s Spotlight Cache is worth your precious resources. Find out the verdict on Silver Sable below.
We’ll be ranking Silver Sable based on the following set of parameters:
- We’ll be looking at Silver Sable’s performance at the Rank 70 and above
- We’ll be considering Silver Sable’s overall win percentage in these ranks, but also its average cubes and popularity
- Finally, we'll look at which archetypes Silver Sable best fits into and how the card performs in the current meta
Our Card Tier List are based on the Average Cubes and Popularity of a card when compared to all other cards in Marvel SNAP.
The Raw Data
Silver Sable has a +0.88 average cube rate at Rank 70 and above, sitting it comfortably near the top of Tier B on the Card Tier Rankings. The card's high winrate, 61.7%, demonstrates that while this card wins, it gives the opponent ample time to assess the damage its done and retreat for a low amount of cubes. Despite this, Silver Sable is performing soundly, even with its popularity hitting 17.4% since its release. We'll be watching to see if the card's performance numbers increase as player experimentation begins to slow down in the coming weeks and its popularity drops. For now, Silver Sable's metrics match the winrates and average cube rates of cards playing in a similar space, like Killmonger and Kate Bishop.
Remember that these stats will settle over time and this early review consists of 24 hours of data. Be sure to revisit the card stats on our Card Tier List to see where Silver Sable lands in terms of power level and popularity.
Silver Sable’s Best Decks
With thousands of games already logged by the Untapped Companion at Rank 70 and above since Silver Sable's release, we have good picture of which decks are working for the latest Season Pass card and which are not. Here are the best-performing options:
The standout here is a high winrate deck that benefits from another Affliction tool: the Clog Archetype. With an incredible +0.97 average cube rate and 65.5% winrate, the archetype was performing well before Silver Sable's release, but is performing even better both because of its new card and the fact that it plays extremely well into decks using the new Season Pass card, Symbiote Spider-Man. The deck often plays cards like Hazmat, Red Guardian and Ajax, which culminate in explosive power output if all the pieces fall in place. Don’t worry if you are missing any of the cards listed, you can always find a deck tailored to your collection on our Marvel SNAP Decks page.
The other top performer is a variation of the Bounce Archetype, leveraging a tried and true shell to capitalize on a new, low-cost and easily bounceable card. Bouncing Silver Sable multiple times in a match hurts your opponent twofold, first with the affliction affect and again with the increased power.
We also need to not only analyze Silver Sable's individual power level, but also the archetypes utilizing the card best. If we look at the current Marvel SNAP meta, the Bounce Archetype is sitting in Tier A with a 61.0% winrate and flat +1.00 average cube rate using data since the card's release on September 3, 2024 at Rank 70 and above. The most popular deck, however, comes in slightly lower, with a 59.3% winrate and +0.99 cube rate.
Bounce Archetype
Final Thoughts
Is Silver Sable worth your resources? Early Review analysis revolves around two dimensions, the card's immediate power level and how strong its archetype is in the current Marvel SNAP meta within its release window.
The raw data shows Silver Sable is putting out great numbers, even with high popularity. As popularity lowers in the coming weeks, these metrics should only increase as the card is played less for experimentation and more for purpose. On an archetype level, the Bounce Archetype is sitting in Tier A since its release.
